Biogen Idec's corporate philanthropic activities are closely aligned with its mission to increase disease awareness, improve patient access to care, and help patients with unmet medical needs. Toward this mission, Biogen Idec may provide an Educational Grant to support bona fide, unbiased, fair balanced educational programs or activities designed to educate the medical, scientific or patient community in therapeutic areas of interest to Biogen Idec ("Educational Activity").
Biogen Idec will not offer an Educational Grant with the intent of, directly or indirectly, implicitly or explicitly, influencing or encouraging the Recipient to purchase, prescribe, refer, sell, arrange for the purchase or sale, or recommend any Biogen Idec product.
Educational Grants may be requested by independent (1) Accredited Educational Providers or (2) organizations tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Service Revenue Code.
Educational Grant support may not be offered to an educational program with the intent of, directly or indirectly, implicitly or explicitly, influencing or encouraging the recipient to purchase, prescribe, refer, sell, arrange for the purchase or sale, or recommend favorable formulary placement of a Biogen Idec product or as a reward for such past behavior.
